Transfer or resell a ticket

Updated 13 July 2026

Being straight with you: findout does not have an in-app transfer or resale flow yet. Here is how passing a ticket on actually works today.

Giving a ticket to someone else

The QR code is the ticket, and whoever presents it first is admitted. To pass a ticket on, forward that ticket's QR code to the person going. Each code admits exactly once, so send each attendee their own ticket's code, delete your copy, and never post a code publicly.

The order stays under the original buyer's name. If the door checks names against orders (some events do when phones die), tell the person attending the name on the order, or email the organiser in advance so they expect the new attendee.

Reselling

If you sell a ticket on, you may not sell it above the price you paid. Above-face resale of tickets to designated events is prohibited in Ireland under the Sale of Tickets Act 2021, and findout's ticket terms apply the same rule to every ticket: at or below what you paid, never above.

The safer option

If you cannot go and do not know anyone to take the ticket, contact the organiser via the event page; whether an unwanted ticket can be refunded is their call under the refund policy. A refunded ticket's QR code stops working immediately, so never buy a ticket from a stranger who claims they will "refund it after".
