Cancel an event and refunds

Updated 13 July 2026

Cancelling is one action with automatic consequences, so you should know them before you press it.

What happens when you cancel

  1. Sales stop immediately and every ticket type ends.
  2. Every paid order is refunded in full to the buyer's card, face value and booking fee both. Buyers do not need to request anything.
  3. All tickets are invalidated at once; the scanner rejects them from that moment.

What it means for your money

The refunded face value comes out of your Stripe balance, since the ticket money was yours from the sale. This is also why payouts release after the event date: at the moment of cancellation the funds are still there to make buyers whole. The booking fee portion is returned by findout, not you.

Partial situations

Cancelling is for the whole event. If the event is going ahead changed (new date, new venue, different headliner), do not cancel; contact us instead, buyers get face-value refund rights under the refund policy, and tickets stay valid for everyone happy with the change.

Tell people

Refunds are automatic but disappointment is not self-explaining; announce the cancellation wherever you promoted the event. Buyers with questions about their refund can be sent to the findout Help Centre.
